Temporary plate strainers also known as disk type strainers and gaskets strainers, they are made of wire mesh, perforated metal or a combination of both. The plate temporary strainers are usually installed between two standard flanges of the pipelines to protect downstream equipment during initial start-up and normal periods. Flat plate strainers have filtration surface area less than a cone or basket type strainer, however, the plate types are very easy to install and remove from pipelines.
