Conical strainer, also known as witch’s hat strainer and temporary cone strainer, belongs to pipe coarse filtration series. Conical strainer is a kind of indispensable device for conveying medium pipes. Its form is simple. Temporary cone strainers can remove the impurities of pipeline medium to make the equipment work and run normally, so as to achieve a stable process and ensure safe production for equipment. Generally, conical strainer is installed in the inlet port of relief valve, decompression valve, water level valve and other equipment, being used to eliminate impurities in the medium to protect valves and equipment. When fluid get into the certain sizes of mesh screen, its impurities will be blocked. Cleaning filtrate will be outlet from strainer. When the strainer needs to clean, worker just needs to take out the removable cartridge, than re-installed after clean processing. Therefore, it is very convenient to use and maintain.

Materials

Conical strainer is available in three different series of wire materials:

Austenitic stainless steel 200 and 300 series: Grade 201 (1.4372), Grade 202 (1.4373), Grade 304 (1.4301), Grade 304L (1.4306), Grade 316 (1.4401), Grade 316L (1.4404), Grade 321 (1.4541)

Ferritic stainless steel: Grade 430 (1.4016)

Martensitic stainless steel: Grade 410 (1.4006), Grade 420 (1.4021 )

Applications

The conical strainers are widely used in the pipeline construction project, to protect components like compressors, pumps, turbines, magnetic valves, measuring instruments, turbines and heat exchangers.
